Organic Lip Balm Review-Messy Little Smiles

Hi, my name is Christina, and I’m addicted to organic lip balm. Lip balm is a staple in my bedtime routine and I get anxious if I don’t have it on. Weird, but true. With the seasons changing and the cool air moving in, I began my hunt for the perfect organic lip balm. To my surprise, not only did I find what I was looking for, but I found one I could use on Phoenix too! Where did I find it you ask? On Instagram of course. One of my good friends tagged me in a picture and said, “check these products out.” Well, I did and reached out to the owner of Messy Little Smiles. How cute is that name? This is what I found…

Messy Little Smiles is owned by Sarah. She is a mom that is passionate about her children and their health (as she should be). In her own search for a lip balm she could use on her little ones, she kept running into the same thing. In fine print on the back of generic Chapstick it says, “consult a doctor before use” and “keep away from children.” Are you serious!?! If the chemicals found in these products aren’t good for children they are not good for anyone. This harsh realization drove her to create a product that is USDA Organic certified and she makes it in her own home after the kiddos go to bed. How cool is that!

Sarah was so kind to send me a couple of her Messy Little Smiles lip balms to try. Here is my review of her products…

Ingredients: Organic coconut oil, organic beeswax, organic honey, organic Shea Butter, and organic essential oil flavoring

Being a skin care guru and all, I can tell you these ingredients are the bomb.com (haha, yes that is still cool to say). The coconut oil, honey, and Shea butter and all extremely moisturizing and hydrating. The beeswax helps seal in the moisture along with firming and plumping the skin. These ingredients are so good, I would be confident in telling you you can use them around the eye area too. Probably just at night though, I think it would be a little too tacky to wear under makeup. Also, I wouldn’t recommend using the mint flavor around the eye area, that might burn a little.

The flavors I tried were Orange-Honey and Mint. The Orange-Honey made me salivate and want a dreamsicle and the mint was refreshing and cooling. The product itself is soft and silky and stayed on my lips for hours. When the product did wear off, my lips did not feel parched and dry like they were starving for more. I could tell the ingredients actually did what they were suppose to. I even tried them on Phoenix and he loved them. He would giggle when I applied it and then he tried to eat it. Ha!

I give this organic lip balm two thumbs up and think you should definitely give it a try! It’s a great product for you, your family, or as a gift.
